How the nine axes are scored
Each axis is measured by five statements, answered on a five-step scale: Strongly Agree counts 2, Agree 1, Neutral/Unsure 0, Disagree −1 and Strongly Disagree −2, reversed for a statement that argues for the other end. The five answers are added, multiplied by 5 and added to 50, as in the short version of the original 9axes quiz.
Federal–Unitary, Democratic–Authoritarian, Globalist–Isolationist, Militarist–Pacifist, Security–Freedom, Equality–Markets, Secular–Religious, Progressive–Traditional and Assimilationist–Multiculturalist are the nine axes. The opposite ends of each axis add to 100%.
The closest match is the nearest of the 52 ideologies listed by 9axes, found with its own distance rule on four of the nine axes: Equality–Markets, Democratic–Authoritarian, Globalist–Isolationist and Progressive–Traditional. The closest figure, country and historical state are added by this site: your nine scores are compared with the nine matching axes of the 12 Axes registers.
