How to read your result

Family Where the ideology is usually placed, from far left to far right, centre or libertarian. An ideology the left-right words do not place has no family line.

Closest ideology The closest of the 38 ideologies, by the distance on four axes: economy, government, diplomacy and society. Closeness: 100 minus half that distance. Political ideologies

Historically closest The state of the past nearest to the scores on all twelve axes, from a register of 53. Words only, no flag or symbol.

Closest figure The historical figure nearest to the scores on all twelve axes, out of 124, with the closeness. Political figures

Closest country The country nearest to the scores on all twelve axes, out of 195, with its flag and closeness. 12 Axes countries

Farthest from you The country and the figure farthest from your scores in the same ranking, not a real-world judgment.

Twelve axes The pole each score leans to and how far, in four categories: government, diplomacy, economy, society.

The ideology uses four axes. Countries, figures and regimes use all twelve. A country is scored on its current government's policy and a figure on their own views, so the home country of your closest figure may not be your closest country.

The tiers of people and countries are our own estimates from public positions and policies. They are approximate, they are not an endorsement, and they say nothing about the people of any country.

For self-reflection, not a scientific measurement.

Twelve axes in four categories
